Is The Rise Of Antisemitism Related to Bible Prophecy?

The short answer is, absolutely. Tearing down posters of kidnapped Israeli children. Death threats sent to Jewish schools and students. Swastikas spray painted in public spaces. U.S. antisemitism is at near-historic levels, according to FBI director Christopher Wray… reports Claire Donnelly and Meghna Chakrabarti in article for On Point.

And this rise began long before university student protesters began chanting things like, “death to Jews”; “We love Hamas, we love your rockets too!”; “Death to Israel”; “Death to America”; “Al-Qassam, you make us proud; kill another [Jewish] soldier now!”; “There is only one solution, intifada revolution!”; and “Viva, viva, Palestinia” while tearing down the American flag from a pole, and cheering when it hit the ground.” Of course, much violence has been associated with these gatherings as well.

The rise in antisemitism didn’t just start after October 7th. According to an article by NPR and a report released by Tel Aviv University’s Center for the Study of Contemporary European Jewry along with the U.S. based Anti-Defamation League—since 2021 there has been a dramatic increase in antisemitism across the globe, and most alarmingly a severe intensification in the United States. The ADL reports that antisemitism in the U.S. is currently at its highest point since the ADL began tracking antisemitic incidents in 1979.

So, what’s the connection with Bible prophecy? The link is Ezekiel 37-39 and Zechariah 12-14 a yet fulfilled prophecy for the future… “Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it. On that day, declares the Lord, I will strike every horse with panic, and its rider with madness. But for the sake of the house of Judah I will keep my eyes open, when I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness… On that day the Lord will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the Lord, going before them. And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 12:2-4, 8–9)

Geographically speaking, all the pieces (nations of Ezekiel 38 that will oppose Israel led from the north) are now in place as never before. These nations will represent the ultimate antisemitic coalition that will find a reason to try and take down Israel… they will fail in their efforts and God will bring about their own destruction just as Zechariah prophesied. This is why, as Christians, we must stand with Israel! And this is why it is so alarming to see our President backing away from Israel and threatening not to provide assistance and military aid if Israel does not stop their assault on Hamas.

God has already made clear that the Jewish people belong to Him…“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.” (Deuteronomy 7:6) Further, the scripture makes clear that those who oppose Israel will be opposed by God. Pray for peace in Jerusalem and pray that America and believers will not abandon Israel in this crucial hour.

Oh yeah, did you know that as of September 12, 2022, Israel now possesses 5 Red Heifers? But that prophetic matter is for another column.

In the meantime, remember that God is always trying to take you some place new. I love being your Pastor!

For God’s Glory Alone,
Pastor Ray
